There are better alternatives to BBM and there are better alternatives to what RIM says they will be making available in the future. It is rather sad that so-called "Professionals" choose a phone based on the crummy software that comes with it, and they don't care (or know) that there are better solutions available for free on other platforms. Heck, the last time they did a survey, over 1/2 of the people who said they were getting another blackberry said it was because of the email notification LED (something that almost every Android has had for years).
