You fail to mention their GodAwful toolbar, which is almost impossible to remove.

Bollocks! you are given options on any software install as to whether to install bundled toolbars or not by un-ticking Ashampoo is no different,in your case being careless as you were it can be removed thru add/remove

Thanks very much for the review.

Where I often come unstuck with freeware on Linux is the audio language and subtitles. I sometimes cannot get a useful rip because I cant get the right combination of these. For instance, the GUI's often wont let me choose Japanese audio with English subtitles (and the english dub is typically godawful). I wonder if the handling of these is good in Ashampoo B.S. 11?

this thread is kind of redundant as burning studio 2012 is now free on giveaway of the day.

I wouldn't even have it for free.. it tends to make a balls up of the registry filters (like their last effort) and screws up disk reading and burning for other applications. Quite why people bother with this crap payware when freeware like imgburn is available and does not muck everything up is beyond my understanding.. I guess people are just stupid.

That is ONLY if you happened to know about it on September 26th 2012. By September 27th, it was too late already.
