I've been looking to add this to my PS2. Couple quick questions.

1. My PS2 according to modchip.com has 10 screws but also has the warning label and is a model 30001. Does the label mean it is version 4?

2. For my version above, what would be the best solution to get this working? I haven't done soldering before but how hard can it be? Is the card version just as good?

3. I have a NEC2500A modded to the dual layer dvd support for those rare games. Will the above solution work well with this?

I just want to find out if it is worth it to mod my PS2. It is pretty old. No problems reading DVD's or games as of yet.

if your ps2 has 10 screws it is a v1-3 , get a new 1 .

If he's not having problems reading games yet then he could mod it. i do older version ps2's on a regular basis if they pass the test I give. i usually put Duos and Matrix chips in those. You can still mod that bad boy.
