Hello.
My Netgear RP614v2 router wont forward any ports! I have gone into the setup screen of the router, forwarded them and assigned the correct ip but all my p2p apps still download at a snails pace! Is this a problem with the router? Is there a way of opening the ports other than the normal setup screen?

Sorry but im new to all this and need help!

Thanks.

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking/saying, but I use the same Netgear router and do not have problems with WinMX. Also, from what it sounds like you're saying, if you are getting ANY downloads, even slow ones, that would seem to indicate that you ARE getting port forwarding, things are just slow. If there was no port forwarding at all, you wouldn't get anything. At least that's the way it seems to me. Maybe your slowness is coming from somewhere else. I don't think it has anything to do with port forwarding and the Netgear router.

hi, dela. Do you have any sort of list at all as far as which ISP's are doing this? It would be really helpful if you did. That way people could know which ones to avoid or at least what to expect. I mean, one of the main purposes of broadband is to facilitate better P2P exchanges, I believe.
