Yahoo's co-founder Jerry Yang has resigned from his position on the company's board of directors, sending the company's shares up significantly. Additionally, Yang will step down from any remaining positions at the company. This is purely a guess, but could it be that he may have been in a position to "ask to leave"?

I mean he helps to invent Yahoo, yet stocks go up when he leaves. That's a weird contradiction.
