Nook Tablet rooted with SD card

article published on 29 January, 2012

Although the Nook Tablet has been rootable out of the box, the process was notoriously user unfriendly. This week, the devs over at XDA have found a much easier way to root the tablet, (which still has a locked bootloader) using a microSD card. Rooted mine the old way, was a bit of a pain, but well worth the effort. I would do it again in a heartbeat, and with this new way I couldn't think of one reason not to.

Is it worth getting the Nook to be rooted versus just getting a TF Prime that has more features? Clearly the money factor has it beat ($250 vs. $600), but you still don't get the features even after rooting it (ex. GPS, HDMI, ICS on Prime). I guess it comes to budget and preference about what fits for you I guess.

Ok so this might be a stupid question. But can you still switch SD cards or does the Sd with the root have to stay in the system the whole time? Please and thank you
