ynnek,

it appears that beginner questions are not answered, like yours and mine (video card). maybe they know it is in past posts and that we should seek it out, which might take hours and would take only a couple minutes for someone to guide us on the right path.

ynnek and jmf

Members are normally willing to assist if your questions are clear and specific.

There are many guides and software (often free) available from this site to get you started.

It is up to you to read and download these prior to asking very broad non-specific questions. Additionally there is a search button that can be used to explore threads and forums relating to specific areas.

Nobody here is paid to provide advice and in most cases the advice for Newbie questions has been provided previously.

There is a great wealth of knowledge, guides and advice availalbe on this site - search and explore it and then come back if you are still having problems.

Start slowly, learn the basics, experiment and try some of the available software before embarking on more ambitious projects such as animation etc.

Some of the more useful programs for successful, ripping, encoding and burning include:

DVD Shrink
DVD Decrypter
Nero 6.whatever

They are enough to get you started and there are many others that other members prefer or use successfully.

DVD is considerably more complex than CD and similar principles do not always apply - read, learn, experiment and then seek help with specific problems.

Instant walk through guides are not the answer if you do not have the basics.
