Philips 737 troubles...

I have recently purchased a Philips 737 DVD/DIVX player. I updated to the latest firmware immediately (.35) and everything looked good.

However, during and especially towards the end of my DIVX and XVID movies the screen keeps blacking out and them coming back, losing sync with the audio and I also get a lot of image quality issues (I think they are called artifacts appearing on screen, like squares)

I am wondering if this has to do with the player itself or the media. They are all branded, imation or fujifilm CDs, never given me any problems on any computer drive.

If the media is ok and the firmware is already the latest I feel like theres little I can do, which is disappointing having just bought this player precisely for its DIVX/XVID functionality!
