Quad-core Motorola Atrix 3 leaked?

article published on 20 February, 2012

The Tian Jin Daily has reported on the leaked specs of the Motorola Atrix 3, which will have the largest battery seen on a consumer smartphone, to date. If accurate, the device will have a 4.3-inch 720p display, run on a quad-core Tegra 3 processor, have 2GB RAM and the huge 3300mAh battery. The phone will also have a 4G LTE radio and all other standard features. Notably, the phone ... [ read the full article ]

Yeah, but who knows how long it will last with a quad core. It still is made on a 40nm process. I rather wait for the 28nm Snapdragons S4's. It will offer much better battery life, and possibly better performance (even for being a dual core). Don't get me wrong, the quad-core Tegra 3 is very nice, but what happens to battery life when you demand more power and the companion core is turned off? Smartphones already have sh*tty battery life.

And has a price tag that rivals financing a round trip ticket to the moon.

Frankly research & development needs to quit pissing & moaning about making bigger batteries and make a battery that actually lasts longer. They can do it, they just won't.

Don't believe me? Here's a hint; There has to be at least one other old timer out there that remembers an old TV show from the ABC line up back around 1977/78 by the name of "That's Incredible" with John Davidson, Fran Tarkenton & Cathy Lee Crosby (1st TV Wonder Woman) [and no, I don't care what Wikipedia says, my date is more accurate] in which one of the segments they aired was a bunch of PhD scientists working on a car that was supposed to get 100 miles to a gallon of gas.

Obviously this got a bunch of attention due to the timing of the gas crisis & the staggering waiting lines at the gas pumps.

Given the perameters of the show, they proved that they could indeed make a car that could run 100 miles on a gallon of gas. No, the car wasn't a 4 ton Cadillac with every option available at the time with the air conditioning running full blast either, but you get the idea.

30+ years later; where the hell are those cars, what's up with the battery technology, I call "bullshit" on solar & wind tech 'not' being a viable option and cell phone batteries not being able to last more than 8 hours of normal talking operation.

Oh... & yeah, I guess I would like to have one of these phones too... but only if it's around the $200 mark when I sign a new contract.
