IBM has laid off 1000 employees, and that may just be the beginning. The company does not comment on specifics, but Alliance@IBM/CWA Local 1701, the union that gathers data and comments directly from IBM employees has mentioned that the 1000 may not be the end of the cuts. Well this doesn't surprise me at all.

1. lets sell the thinkpad division to lenovo big mistake now lenovo is making three times more then ibm ever did

so it doesn't surprise me at all with stupid people comes stupid decisions

In the day IBM'ers wore pin striped suits and were guaranteed no layoffs.

Now, you are not labeled as a, "permanent employee." It is now called a FTE (full time employee.) because of possible legal issues.

IBM is actually still incredibly profitable, they just got out of the consumer hardware market, they sell to almost every major business with servers, software, and support.
