Apple is once again the center of rumor, as Digitimes is reporting that the company's oft-rumored "iPad Mini" is already being assembled. The 7.85-inch model of the iPad will enter full-time production in the Q3. Hasn't anyone heard of the IPad 'Mega'??

Can't believe no one has heard of it. WTF??

Oh, wait, it's actually the Macbook Air priced at $1000, and still no PC makers can match it in both quality and price.

How is this relevant? You see all manufacturers having laptops in that price range for that size. Sony is a good example.

Except the slew of ultrabooks that are on/coming to market. Asus Zenbook, this year's Samsung Series 9, et al. The <$1k air is bogged down with 1366x768 resolution, 2GB RAM, and only 64GB SSD, so to say that no PC manufacturer can come close to the lowest-end model of the Air is a bit disingenuous. If you want a more realistic comparison, take a look at the ~$1200 version of the Air, of which there are plenty of comparable competitors.

Personally, I want to see a thin Windows 8 ultrabook with a touchscreen interface (and the implied full querty keyboard). All this tablet nonsense is starting to bother me.
