"Would let..."

I love it.

Hey, we'll be happy to take your physical "anythig" and replace it with electrons in the cloud, so you can unburden your puny mind of having to keep up with these silly outdated "discs".

I want to punch one of these people.

Sure we'll replace your old warn out crappy disc with a brand new shiny digital copy on THE CLOUD. We LOOOVE the cloud! HAAAAHHHHHH! Oh, wait we've removed that version and now you get to re-purchase your cloud copy each year. Oh, and that device you want to play your film on...UH, NO you can only play it on THESE approved devices since we don't like those other devices.

Yea, sounds like a GREAT plan to me!

All these company's offering us so much good stuff in cloud service they keep forgetting one very important thing BANDWIDTH CAPS!!!! we're already getting screwed over by our ISP's so no thanks to YOUR digital copy i like mine better. IF movies studios really want to get people to stop piracy make better movies stop making remakes and sequel's oh and get the movie theaters to lower the stinking price then people will be more inclined to go to the movies.

Means nothing as too many people already download pirated versions.

Look at music.

In Australia the music companies now do ads to buy music from itunes now nothing about buying music from brick and mortar places.

I'm afraid that Sony did a 180 when they went from giving the thumbs-up for copying VHS tapes to no tolerance with digital content.. On one hand it makes sense since an analog copy of VHS looks like shit unless you could afford a 2x recorder. Digital you can make almost a 100% reproduction from the original.

Still, trying to stifle users from making digital copies is a huge waste of money hiring lawyers guns and money.

Now regret purchasing my Sony TASCAM 2488 24 track recorder for music.
I would love to stuff the machine up Sony's and Warner Brothers ass.
