Samsung has announced a milestone for their over-sized Galaxy Note smartphone, 2 million units sold.
Executives noted the figure to Forbes during an interview.
The figure is not mind-blowing, but it is a very strong number for a device that many believed would fail due to its "identity crisis" as a tablet and phone hybrid.

Mine should arrive tomorrow. I thought long and hard about this unit, as I have the Samsung Galaxy S2, plus a couple of tablets. Though the screen size may be large, I believe (yet to be tested), the ability to browse the internet, read books etc really do need a big screen. And save my eyes in the meantime. My grandaughter has an Iphone 4, which I played around with, and in my opinion for what it counts, all it is really good for is making calls and texting. Browsing the Internet and helping her through Angry Birds levels was frustrating due to its screen size.
If all goes well, then i am ditching my tablets and ereader (though I will keep my GalaxyS2 for backup).
For those who think it is embarassing to hold up such a large device to your ear, well, just use the handsfree option or get bigger ears.
I think this is the way phones will go. There are some rumours that the S3 iss going to be a large phone.
