Apple to create new jobs with new campus in Texas

article published on 10 March, 2012

Apple has announced it will invest $300 million to build a new campus in Austin, Texas. The new campus will bring 3600 jobs with it over the next decade, doubling the current workforce the company has in Austin. Apple's current workforce in the city take care of customer support and complaints via the Web and phone. Says spokesman Steve Dowling (Reuters): "Our operations in Austin ... [ read the full article ]

That's probably counting the hired, trained (but not the failure rate) & then the replacement hires for the turnovers over the subsequent few years. Not to mention folks who just flat out up & quit from piss poor hours to piss poor wage compensation. It's a garbage number derived from statistics made to say whatever makes bean counters happy & evade taxation.

I'm sure Ricky Boo-boo got a new ipud & some slick kickbacks for his government involvement too.

But then I'm sure the fanboy rebuttal will state otherwise, as CrApple has 'never' gotten into bed with the any government (or their officials) or distorted numbers as to their gains/losses in any of its business practices.

So unemployment is better than getting some income from a honest/decent job. Interesting take on the matter.

His take is just that he hates Apple like it's trying to stomp on his puppies or something, so feels some inane need to respond to just about every Apple-related article w/ some half-brained attack.

So I'm not alone after all. I thought I was the only one who noticed that.

Cute, to both; didn't want to single anyone out of the group. And sure, I'll agree to most of the comment other than the puppies & the half brained. Not to mention the fact CrApple has a long line of reason for 'me' to not like them.

Like typical fanboys, you fellows have nothing to argue or quantify, so you just whine about the commentator. Trying with redundant quip-age that makes the teeny-poppers giggle, supposedly making up for the lack of any educated retort.

plutonash had a lost image (would have liked to seen what that was) & a poignant statement. To which I counter, CrApple isn't in the business of making 'commoners' rich. Plus the fact I'm not so sure that working for them at sub par wages for maximum hourly rates is fair trade despite. Keep things in context. By your definition you personally should be willing to quickly take up prostitution in order to gain employment for a short period of time to avoid unemployment. Thus unemployment isn't a factor in my original comments. Context.

fanboys... stop whining & heal yourselves. Ease of use technology that records your every move that tantalizes you with pretty colors is no excuse to be lazy & not learn your technology. You labored long & hard to pay for your bits of plastic goodness & for what? A corporation that brags that they have $100 billion just sitting like tchotchke in a curio cabinet. Then the same company whispers sweet nothings in your ear of a huge hootered $4000 a night Vegas hooker in your ear only to turn up with a $20 Southern Illinois crack whore.

Wake up.

I am hardly what you'd call a fanboy of anything. If you noticed, I never condoned nor condemned Apple in any way. I was merely agreeing with xnonsuchx that anytime there is an article about Apple you are on the front lines with some long-winded tirade about why the company is bad. Your opinion of Apple is well documented, so there really isn't a need to go on yet another rant whenever a new article is posted.

As for redundant quips, are you really going to throw that stone from your glass house when the pinnacle of your wit and satire lies in juvenile mockery of names? Examples: CrApple = Apple; NetNuts = Netflix; and BallSac = LulZsec. These are just from some of your posts from the past 2 days. On a side note, you seemingly complain about so many things, it begs the question does anything truly make you happy?

In any event, you'd do well to adopt a more open mind and listen to the opinions of others without automatically assuming dissenters are fanboys.

Note taken & your right, it doesn't immediately constitute 'fanboy-ism' to point out that an old codger has "yet another rant" to pollute your eyes. I do agree with your observation. And thank you for noticing my other rather ludicrous labels for other such organizations as well. But let's be serious; now you're going to start a "he/she said it first" debate? Not to mention the fact; since when did a fortune 500 organization need you to come to their liable suit rescue anyway? I'm sure they've been called worse & I half-assed apologized for inferring you were a fanboy 'for' Apple.

Yet there actually HAS BEEN very few times I have felt the need to pat Apple on the back. But their endless strings of "Ah Shit" awards keep wiping the slate clean. So you'll pardon my 'want/need' for it here as well.

But you'll do well to read ALL my forum inputs & not just my Apple rants. I'm quite open minded as a matter of fact. It just so happens that 25+ years exposure to Apple & their business practices (as well as others, not just Apple [see]) has left me more than jaded.

I've also traveled the world, worked in the entertainment industry & served in the US Army as a Combat Photographer (IN THAT ORDER). Two polar opposite organizations that should leave any individual schizophrenic.

How strange indeed it is to travel to lands where you are asked to defend yourself where some one is trying to kill you & then you are immediately told to help carry the very thing you gunned down to the MediVac to save its life.

So without waxing poetic, unless you share an equal or greater distance traveled in my shoes, let's not speak of being open minded.

I joke of myself being an Old Fat Bastard (OFB) because I earned it. And if I earned a stereo type, I have the guts to wear it. If I got cut for being stupid, I have o the guts to also admit what that scar was earned from as well. Not make up a lie to cover my tracks. I may live in that glass house. And I guarantee you it has a hell of a lot of cracks in it, but at least I'll won't cover it up. And on occasion, the wind comes blowin' mightily throw there.

How many in here can REALLY say the same?

But as for opinions? All I've heard is your opinion of me. When are you going to opine the article? That's what Rule #15 is all about. Once again, I never made this about me...

You're just as bad as any real fanboy, despite your superiority complex.
