Hi first post so please help.

First time I have tried to extract a audio track and it failed. I need to take the audio track from a file with the format wmv, all the rippers I have tried (4) don't recognise it and only want to play with mpg etc, can anyone suggest which program would do it?

dBpowerAMP Music Converter (FREE) should do what you want.

You will need to also install the Windows Media Audio V9 Codecs.
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codec-central-wma.htm

If you want to convert to other than MP3, WAV, CDA get the other codecs you need.
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codec-central.htm

After it is installed with the codecs, right click on your .wmv file and select Convert To.
