dcplusplus not responding

i have been happily using dcplusplus for quite some time now with no problems but the last couple of days when i fire up the program within minutes of a download or new searches being made the cpu useage shoots up to 100% and the program just freezes/not responding , i have tried all kinds of stuff within my limited knowledge to solve it , even defrags and emptying temp directories etc etc , if its virtual memory ? i had a friend sort that out the other week and it worked fine then right till now , anyone any ideas or similar incidences as this ?

try uninstalling - cleaning your computer, Re-Downloading the installation file... and doing a virus scan - then Re-Install it

many thanks for the reply , one new possible clue i found was there was a file list i noted always almost downloading , and this seemed to happen everytime i fired up DC , as soon as that list almost d loaded it froze , i quickly removed the list on 2 restarts of DC and managed to get some progress , i am still not sure what the problems are .
