I have a Dell Inspiron 9100 ands I have been using TDK CD-R to burn music, backup data, ect. I have already gone through 100 of these TDK CD-r disks with no problems at all. I am on my second batch of the exact same TDK CD-r cds and I cannot get them to work. They burn halfway through and stop and say the disk was dirty or scratched. I can used these CD-r's on two different burners and they work fine. I tried using different programs of my Dell and it still doesn't work. Any ideas? Is this batch just disagreeable with my burner? Thanks alot.

Who actually makes the media? CDRIdentifier allows you to read the ATIP on a blank cdr(w) (ATIP is essentially a code embedded into a CDR(W) that allows you to identify what company actually manufacturered the disc (as opposed to what company marketed it). tdk does not make thier own media any longer, they get it from a third party. one batch might be from on plant and one from another. i would bet all the discs in one spindle are from the same place but different spindles, all bets are off. largest problem i have seen is change in media speed. try updating your firmware for you burner. if that goes no where. try other media. i am huge supporter of taiyo uden as they manufacturer their own media so qulaity is no issue. but you pay for it. i would also tell the vendor you got your media from. often they will refund what you have left or offer an exchange to another brand.
