HELP PBC PROBLEM WITH VCDS

i've been able to play vcd on my dvd player in the past but recently the vcd loads, stops then says pbc off and no movie. there is a title/pbc button but it does nothing. thx

Yep, this has been happening to me too, but with SVCDs, and only certain SVCDs at that.
Even though I turn PBC on in the setup menu, I still get an OSD message "LOADING, SVCD, PBC OFF" and then the STOP symbol.
Can anyone help? What is PBC anyway?
