Journalists have been receiving invitations for a Samsung event on May 3rd, in which the company will launch the Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone.
The invitation simply reads "come and meet the next Galaxy" with a 2PM EST start time on May 3rd.
Samsung has still not officially named the device, but calling it the SGIII is a logical progression from its predecessors.

I'm still on a 2 year contract with my Vibrant, looks like I get to skip a generation! Fair warning, Samsung is horrible at updates, whatever comes on the phone is what you get, unless you want to root it and go that route. I still like it over my work phone (the Droid X) which Verizon bloated to hell, but I refuse to root a work phone.

Samsung is not "horrible with updates" - it is the carriers who would rather you upgrade your phone than update your existing one.
If your company bought phones and contracts seperately you wouldnt have this trouble. As someone connected with itsupport I can understand their reasoning - updating of anything always leads to increased support costs"
