Ok, i woudlnt nessary say this is a dvdripping persay since there is no other forum this topic would belong to. First of leme post some links on what flexplay/Ez D. (its those self disturcting dvds that burn out after 48 hours)

Anyways, since the disk are exposed to oxygen, this is when the chemical reaction occur. So there might be a way to not leek oxygen in.

Two questions im still wondering about these disk are

1. The disk once open to oxygen, then resealed. Will it still burns out in 48 hours?

2. OR the burnout of the disk is based on the amount/time exposed to the oxgyen?

One idea is to coat the whole dvd with a special coating so the surface would never have contact with oxygen in the first place. Maybe open it under water and coat it with some kind of liquid or Enamel if its number 1.

If number two, (exposed to amount/time of oxygen, then you can just open it and seal it with some knamel/liquid)

Thats just some ideas and i havent tested it out yet. It will cost me 6 dollars for one of these gay things lol. IF any of you try some of these ideas, let me know. IM going to test one out tonight or so.

Ever think by adding this so called enamel/liquid, then putting it in your player ... it might just ruin your player?

In some cases it may be kinder and more humane to place both the disk and operator in an oxygen free environment

hahaha. Ok, the enamal is clear (clear nail polish) which the lazer just passes through it unless is flamable in its solid state. But probly not but thats ok since i have a spare dvd player to test it on.

and to the 2nd reply. Yes, i would like to sufficate in an oxgyen free enviroment... this would be costly and not praticle for normal use :D

how exactly were you planning on putting enamel on under water???

i think youll find that enamel that is clear to the eye is well and truly less than clear to the dvd laser....however dont take my word for it, be a trailblaser. Youve only got your dvd player/drive to lose, and possible risk of fire, and personal injury

but go for it, let us know how it goes :)

jezh!!! so much pessimistic ppl. Where's the damn support hahaha.

Well, those are just examples of one type of clear bond that you can use. I mean there's countless other like epoxy that will not blow up, burn since its fire/water retardent.

I dont know how to put enamal underwater. hahaha. Its just a thought. Just ideas thrown here and there. lol.

Well i do have an old dvdr drive that is just sitting around begging for some attention. Of course if a fire starts, I will have to spit on it 100x times. And i will be in my pretend fireman spandex suit. lol. I will update when i get my cash to buy the DVDs.

ps. O yea, you can fill a tub of enamal and then open the dvd under it lol

I would wonder if there would be read errors since there is little to no chance that the enamel could be applied perfectly even.

Although unlikely this would work ... I'm curious to see if you can get it to work. How much are these temp dvd movies? If you can somehow pull it off to make them permanent and won't ruin our players, I'm sure we would all save money buying those instead of the retail dvd's.

So test away :-) Good luck!!

yea, it would be hard to have an even coat of enamal unless it settles. I was thinking of using hairspray lol. It does give a even coat or something from a can.

O yea, these disk cost around 5.99 right now since its still in testing phase. If massed produced it would be cheaper like the same as dvd-rentals at blockbuster.

haha i hope to pull it off, or with some help *cough* but its all good. Gotta do some research on hairspray. lol.
