Help me. My copy of DVD X Copy Platinum (ripper included version) doesn't detect my drive with drive select. I am using a Lite-On Slimtype DVD+RW SDW-421S with firmware LSU1. The Drive Select doesn't display this drive.

Please help me!

have you tried re-installing? And why not just get Platinum RF?

Have you tried trashing your entire system Yet? Because if DVD X copy isn't detecting your drive then all is lost. I'm hearing this all over the forum, get rid of it, you don't need it. Follow my instructions.

Download DVD Shrink and install it. Open it and go to Edit, then preferences, then File I/O and then at the bottom left choose "enable burning with Nero. Now read and follow the link to the guide.

No this 321 and Zero what the hell's with this unsupported, hmm and we're catching flies.

When people come to you with a problem about 321 Studios software, save your time and their's and give them the peace wiht the Shrink solution.

Yea, Shrink and Decrypter is my second suggestion. But I figure they've already paid for it might as well have it as an option to use it. Plus, my 321 software still works, so hopefully we can get their's working again.

What they paid for was an uncomplicated DVD software backup system, what they got was an online search that led them to us. If you can guide them to shrink, then you are freeing them from their finacial restraints to that original investement.

Very true, I rarely use XCopy now.

It also frees us from having to answer pointless questions. I used to try and figure out all the little things that can cause DVD X copy not to work and it took forever to find a solution. The easiest solution was to realize that all they wanted was to successfully backup their movies. Give them a few Shrink pointers, direct them to the guides, and let their lives become uncomplicated once again.

I've already sucessfully used DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink to copy a DVD, so I know my burner works. Don't worry about giving me any further help; I'll just sell my DVD X Copy Platinum on eBay (probably for a profit).

But it was NOT my system specs. I am using a top of the line laptop (3 Ghz P4 with 1 GB of RAM)!!!

It's a compatibilty issue that 321 studios doesn't seem to be able to resolve.

I have the identical problem, but my "cant find drive" error started happening weeks after successful backups. I read that copy x platinum does this if you have other back up programs installed. I have never loaded any other backup software. This only happens when I want to use the "simple" option in the program.
