IKEA has announced the launch of the IKEA TV, a web-connected device that will be the centerpiece of their new UPPLEVA furniture range. UPPLEVA, which means "experience" in Swedish, will integrate the LED TV, a sound system with wireless speakers and CD/DVD/Blu-ray players into an all-in-one self-assembly piece. Going back to the 50's & 60's to reinvent the wheel I see. Back then you would buy a console TV that had a turntable, radio, and stereo set with speakers all built into one console TV. It was a good idea for the times but....

I wounder if this will sell again after dying so many years ago? It will probably fly for a short time as new fades do, until people realize that everything is tied together and the disadvantages that will pose.
