WinDVD 6 not playing MP3 and VCD

I have a problem with the latest WinDVD Platinum 6. I can't seem to play any MP3 format and VCD on Windvd. I keep on getting the error: "WinDVD MFC Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.", when I try to insert a VCD or play an MP3. But when I try to encode the mp3 into another format specifically wave or windows media audio, the player seem to work fine. PowerDVD, Zoom Player, BlazeDVD, WMP, and Cinemati all worked fine except for WinDVD. Can anyone help me?.....
