I have a new Dell Dimension 4600 with a DVD drive and and DVD burner.
I have burned more than 20 DVDs in the last 2 weeks with DVDX Gold until this morning for an unknown reason I started getting the message after it read the entire DVD and tries to copy it:

"Write operation was not successfull.
Power on or bus reset reported by DVD recorder.
Driver Error Code = 02062900h.
The disc is not successfully recorded."

At this time it ejects the blank DVD.

If I hit OKm I get another message:

"Power on or SCSI reset event ocurred".

I have not clue what any of the above means but I've seen very old messages from 2003 with similar issues, has anyone found an answer ?

Thanks a lot for a your fast answer.

Toto.

You ever called Dell and asked what that error code is? Also, the one thing I noticed about the 4600 and the 2400 is the tower is so small, and it's hard to switch the hardware.

And dell's default is the dvd-rom the master drive and the burner the slave. Well I suggest switching, make the burner the master and the dvd-rom the slave.

What burner do you have?

Thanks flip218

I have a Dell 4600 2.80Ghz with 640MB RAM and XP Home with SP1.
It started recording fine until I must have installed something to create the failure, it could have been a printer driver, a dvd reader, etc... I have no clue.

Maybe I'll try what you suggest, I'll lte you know.
Thx.

PS Dell has clue nor will they support any outside DVD burners as they sell the DVD+R and I had to remove it and buy a DVD-R.
It's a NEC DVD-RW ND-2500A and the reader is a JLMS DVD-ROM XJ-HD166 (no clue what brand).

This is a lite-on 166. Good drive :)

Let's do a test. Do you have DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter? If not download it. We'll find out if its XCopy or your burner.

Using Shrink w/ Decrypter:
1) Open Shrink, open disc
2) Click "backup!"
3) Change target destination to "ISO Image File", then check the box to Launch DVD Decrypter
4) Click ok.

Run only Shrink, Decrypter will run automatically. Run nothing else.
