Hey all -

I'm kind of new to the home theater scene, and I am having a little bit of trouble. I want to hook the following items up through my receiver:

- PS2
- XBOX
- Laptop/Nomad Jukebox (through a mono-->stereo cable)

Right now I have the XBOX hooked up though the DVD input with double-female sided "extenders" on the audio cables since the A/V cable cannot be split. I know there's a way to hook the video up through the receiver, but I just can't figure it out for the life of me. I don't have a video out on my TV, so I don't THINK it's possible, but I hope you can prove me wrong!

Also, I have my Nomad/Laptop Mono-->Stereo cable hooked up in the SA-CD/CD port right now. I have noticed that I miss a few frequenies that one some recordings that are either quite or recorded as to sound in the background (usually guitar parts or synth). Any advice on if fixing this is possible?

Here's my setup if you think it will help:

Receiver: Sony STR-DE597
Fronts: Polk RTi6 (left/right)
Subwoofer: Sony SA-WM250

All through 16 gauge wire, and everything through the Xbox sounds great, even though I bet the non-gold extenders are killing me somewhat. Any help would be appreciated!

You don't need a video-out on your TV. You need a video-in.
Everything hooks up to the receiver, all the audio-only or A/V stuff you have. Call the PS2 'VCR1' and the XBOX 'VCR2' or whatever.
Then, one video output runs from the receiver to the TV.
All audio inputs are standard high-level inputs with the exception of the low-level input for phono pre-amp (turntable).
