Hi, i have been trying to backup my xbox games for a while now and i just cant get it. I have read heaps of guides but i still dont understand how to do it properly. My xbox has an Aladin Advance chip and has an unleashx dashboard. I have my xbox connected to my computer through a direct cable. I have also set the ip address on my xbox to 192.168.0.1 and im trying to connect it through flash fxp. What could i be doing wrong or what do i need to do?
Thanx heaps.

Your almost there! Open flash fxp, set up a new connection, user xbox password xbox, and your xbox ip.

Establish the connection

Look at the files on the right side of the screen (this is the xbox side) d: is yor disk drive and the others are your partitions on your hdd.

Put a game in the d:

Open the d: file in flash fxp

Select and copy them into a file of your choice on your computer(left hand side)

Once it is completed patch the .xbe files, and create your iso with either qwix or craxtion 4.

Burn it as an image in record now max (or dx) or Nero and your all done!

you will have to change your ip address so it is within the same sub net as your computers

my xbox ip is 192.168.0.200 and it connects fine. Just change your xbox ip until you get one to work.

just change it 1 digit at a time and you will get there.

i found i had to type in the .200 in the fxp connection as well not just .2

if this helps at all.

let me know how you get on.

I changed my IP to 192.168.0.50 and it said connection failed, software stopping it or something. but then i tryed it again and it just said failed to route to host again. does it matter what menu i am in on my xbox when trying to connect or is there any other little things that could be stopping it? Or do i just need to keep trying and trying.
Thanx

yeah there could be one other thing.

Turn (if you have it) internet security off when you establish your connection. I use norton 2004 and it wont allow me to ftp with it enabled

clarky makes a very valid point there, check to see if u have any firewall on, theres a few that "interfere" with the ftp program you use when you connect, a good idea is close em all.
If it matters at all, which I doubt as you have already had good advice on this thread. here are my settings.
XBOX
static ip 192.168.0.1
default gateway, left untouched
using a crossover cable
PC network settings, everything unchecked aside from ip which is set to 192.168.0.3 (dont use the auto setting)
subnet 255.255.255.0
flash fxp you MIGHT have some problems with PASSIVE mode, that causes problems sometimes.
also when you connect, make sure all cables are connected, then boot up the pc, then enable the network, then bootup your xbox, then connect
I know it may sound silly, but, the network connection fails also if you have opened a xbox program and arent just on the dashboard.
btw to use the latest craxtion, you will need windows .net installed.
Earlier versions of craxtion you dont:-)
