I would like to know if there is a way to copy a backed up game onto the hdd via HDloader without the need for a modchip? ive heard bout this cracked version but im not sure.
Quote:load hdloader
hit eject
insert swap magic dvd
select install
swap for backup
Hey, could you be a little more specific on these intructions? I have the latest swap magic discs and a no solder mod that allows me to eject w/o the drive reinitializing. I have tried this method, but every time I eject the swap magic disc (CD and DVD) the disc is still spinning very fast. Then when I go to install, it just freezes.
At what screen do I want to change the discs? The screen where is asks if I want to continue? Or the screen where I input the name of the game?
Does the HD Loader work with the no solder modchip at all? I got it years ago, it seems to basically allow the same thing as the flip-top.
It seems to me that in all instructions the swap magic discs are supposed to stop spinning on their own, and I think that is where I am doing something wrong.
ninjatech, I have a fliptop with the SwapMagic 2.0 discs and I have the same problem...I pop open the lid and it's still spinning, so I think there's more to it...probably needs hacked, to tell the HD loader to stop spinning when you need it to, or just to tell it to stop doing the redundant CD check...those of us who have a fliptop, we can see that when it tell syou to put in a disc to install, it stops spinning, but if you put in a backup, it does an extra disc check...it just needs to stop doing that extra check.
Derfunk, after some experimenting, I have some useful info.
You put in the DVD swap disc, then you select install. Wait at the screen where it asks you to confirm you are ready to install (before the keyboard shows up). This is where the swap needs to take place. 50% of the time, no matter how long I wait, the disc is still spinning. However, after the swap, and pressing OK as soon as the backup is inserted (keep in mind I don't have a fliptop), it has worked EVERY time for DVDs. I just did 5 in a row.
However, with the 2 CD backups I have I am yet to get anywhere. I am going to try the CD swap disc but so far I can't even get that thing to work on its own.
The CD swap disc is a TOTAL pain in the butt...I can't get my PS2 to boot it up half the time...
I'll give what you're saying a shot, but my problem is that since I do have a fliptop, the disc I'm taking out will probably fly out and chop my head off...LOL
