Hi all. I'm a newbie at all this DVD backing up stuff. What I want to do is the following and I'm not sure about how to go about it. I want to backup my DVDs to my PC until such a time (a month) when I will have a DVD burner. BTW, I'm not planning on sharing the disk nor pirating (in case you were wondering). Thanks for any help you can offer.
BTW, to be more specific: I want to backup the whole DVD (menu, movie, extras) without loss of format, resolution or size. I've read about "DVD ripping" software but I fear it will alter the original DVD quality. Thanks again :-)
For what you want to do I'd recommend DVD Decrypter. It'll simply remove the copy protection and change nothing else. Keep in mind that each uncompressed movie you put on your hard drive will take up 5-8GB.

If you have Nero 6X OEM or Retail. Download DVD Shrink, open it, go to edit, preferences, file I/O then at the bottom left check "Enable burnig with Nero," then close.
Now follow the link below and the guide closely and you will get your backup.
