Sony exits LCD panel venture.
It announced that it will sell back all 7 percent of the stake in Sharp Display Products Corp, walking away from the joint venture after breaking even on its investment.

Yeah, Sony's were the best TV's to get for a long time. Ever since the side-lit LCD/LED tvs came out they all look terrible. So much ghosting and bleeding issues.
Just take this as an example. Recently I bought a Samsung 22" 1080pHD tv to use as my PC monitor. It has a USB port which will allow me to connect any USB drive, HDD, DVD or flash and play media right off of it. It managed 16 mbps x256, AAC, 1080p video file flawlessly. It could also supply sufficient power to my 1 TBSeagate FreeAgent GoFlex. The USB on the latest Sony TV couldn't even play an mp1/mp2 encoded avi file, even from a flash drive! And - get this, they wanted premium price for it !!!!!
