is there any dvd-r's that are bigger that 4.whatever gb that are available to consumer's? this would eliminate the need to shrink and reauthor.

Oh is there any way to record streaming video or sound to your computer without having to go online to view it?

Q1 Yes. There are Duel Layer DVD's but you need a Duel Layer recorder. There are also Duel Sided DVD's like a regular DVD but you can record on both sides.
