USB Drive question

Any one know if there is a way to make a USB drive work in a PS2? I see they have something called a Max Drive, but I'd rather not pay $30 for a 16MB USB drive when I already have a 128 one.

I assume you must need some sort of PS2 driver on the USB Drive. Is there such a thing?

no you don't need any drivers on the usb drive, but you do need a utility disc that will recognise the usb drive, as it don't show up on the browser screen so you have to use the util' disc to transfer saves from the drive to your mem card and vice-versa.

Is it possible to use a backup of a utility disk to see if my 128 drive will work or not? Would I need a mod chip to use the back up disc?

it might be possible, the util comes on a mini disc, but i s'pose it'd go on to a cd-r, but yes you would need either a mod chip or fliptop or slide card to boot it.

Ehhh....stinking mod chips and such. Well, no matter then. Looks like my dreams of extra megs of storage aren't going to happen anytime soon.

if you know someone with a ps2 that can play backups you could ask them to install the mem card exploit on your mem card, and you can make your own slide card.

might be worth trying.
