New buyers overwhelmingly buying smartphones

According to the latest figures from Nielsen, two out of every three Americans who bought a phone in the last 90 days chose to purchase a smartphone.
Furthermore, as of June, 54.9 percent of all mobile subscribers now have smartphones, a huge jump from May when the number was at 50.4 percent.

Smart phones are just intuitive and like a sidekick for a lot of consumers. Truly an all in one device. I'm trying out the gnex. I'm digging Android so far and I'm coming from an iPhone =)

I would rather have an Android than an iPhone.I was never impressed with the iphone in the first place.

I'm using an Android right now. Would prefer an iPhone but my carrier doesn't carry it yet and I'm not going to AT&T.

I have a Windows Phone. I don't like Apple products because I feel Apple is too controling. I love Windows but, I'm disappointed in Microsoft because in the early 2000's with the iPaqs and Pocket PC PDA's; Microsoft had the chance to take over the smartphone market, but failed miserably.

For the most part, that's where I'm at. Windows had a real shot at cornering the market & blew it in a really bad way. Well... maybe that's too harsh. They were just too clunky, slow & far too user un-friendly.
Apple? Well, I'll be damned if the device is going to control me as apposed to the other way around.

I'm not getting a smart phone until I can get everything (voice/data/text) for 5GB=15$ a month. Otherwise fuq off.
Copyright infringement is nothing more than civil disobedience to a bad set of laws. Lets renegotiate them.

Look at your cell plan they are already controlling you. ;_;

Well... I tried to dodge that kick to the balls, but at the last minute caught me with the toe of your boot right on the edge of my nut.
Had to wait a few minutes for the sweating & dry heaves to pass before writing a retort, but essentially; you're right. It isn't the Android device guiding my way however, just Verizon with a small tempered steel chain tethered to my sack until September.
Then I'll go with one of those $50 plans. I'm sure those will come with their own set of heart aches, but at least I can do away with it altogether if they completely piss me off with no threat to my credit if I so choose.
