Acer to release Windows Phone 8 device in late 2013

While most manufacturers are planning Windows Phone 8 devices for the end of this year, Acer seems to be taking a backseat, waiting until the 3Q 2013 for their first entry to the market.
Nokia, Samsung, HTC and Huawei, among others, have already announced phones for this year running on Qualcomm chips.

Wait....Acer is still around?

Any body who wastes money on an Acer product is a fool !
I purchased a Eee PC X101 for my granddaughter and it still will not connect to the internet.
From what I've heard, this is a common problem.
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING ACER !!!
BUYER BEWARE

That's why I build my own desktops . . .
But I wanted a small netbook for my 15 year old granddaughter and 'supposedly' Acer built good products . . .
Ha-ha-ha what a joke . . I've never paid so much for a brick in my life !

I had a ASUS for a onth then broke down and got a HP touchsmart laptop, I love it wish it had a bit more power tho. Beats paying 300-600$ for a good drawing tablet.

Wait i have an Acer notebook for three years and still working.never got a problem.

You're flat out wrong Acer's are OK and work great. I have several monitors and a couple of their notebooks and have had zero problems in fact my best Acer notebook is a high-end inexpensive business class system 17" with and SSD boot drive and a 750GB HDD, it is fast durable and very nice looking. I also have many friends that have gone from HP, Sony, Dell, and Compac that now use Acer's and just love them.
Know Dell, HP, Compac are all garbage but Acer is not in that class.

Never had trouble with my HP touchsmart.
And I was mostly joking even iffy brands have the occasional great product.

I have and many friends have too! In fact one of my friends bought a 6000 series notebook which I had the SE high-end one of and we both had the same problems around the same usage period, and that was multiple problems. HP is total garbage these days software as well as their hardware. I would buy an eMachine before a HP/Compac any day.

Ya but how many companies offer an Icore 5 laptop with reversible screen and touchscreen.

Actually a couple, however you can have your i5, I have one and I'm not impressed, but the reversible screen might be nice.

Like I said better than spending half a grand on a digital drawing tablet :P

I got a HP Tablet when they were giving them away and that is the only way I would ever consider an HP.

I have an ancient Core duo HP TC4400 and it ran good, and still works, only it did not draw to well so I finally upgraded.
Not like I can actually draw worth a crap yet.

Yup, my 16yr old has had her Acer laptop for 3 years and zero problems. Came installed with Vista, I recently upgraded to Win 7 and still running like new. I did replace the battery last year but other than that, it's been a great budget laptop.
We have another Acer laptop that is 5 years old and also running better than new because the original hard drive failed last month and I installed a new 60g SSD and installed Windows 8. Far better than new if you ask me.

Might as well with my level of skill...oh wait using an etch and sketch takes super OCD skills I do not have 0-o
But meh I am trying and so far there little I can't run on it, HD video works fine, Fallout 3 works well enough, least I can edit it while away from the computer.
