HI, I have the exact same problem as scooby13q. Although I read through the threads of scooby13q's problem, I didn't seem to find any solution. So, just like scoob13q, I bought a brand new Dell Dimension PC, and when I try to burn CDs using ROxio or Musicmatch this is the error message that pops up:
E8004139a: IDispatch error #4506
E80070057: The parameter is incorrect.
MY CDRW/CDR Drive is : NEC NR 7900A
PLEEEASEE, I need some help!!
Also, another thing with my drive is that when i put in a cd, it does not initially recognize it...I have to eject it and reload it in order for it to recognize and run the cd automatically....why does this happen?
I would really appreciate it if someone could help me. THANKSALOT

I have a somewhat similar problem: I can actually go through all the process, and it actually comes up without any errors, but..... when I turn around and want to listen to my CD, it's as if there's all this static and interference and it sounds like crap.

Any suggestions? It happens if I'm using Roxio, Music Match, Real Player, etc., at all speeds, types, etc.

PS: I also have a new Dell Dimension.

What is ASPI, i'm sorry i'm really not that computer literate....
Is there something wrong in my system, or is it the program (Roxio, Musicmatch, etc)?

As far as I know ASPI is a set of drivers for CD-RW machines. Althogh I don't know exactly how it works, I do know it tends to help in these kind of situations. If you want to know exactly how they work your best bet is to ask cd-rw.org

Good luck

ASPI is a programming interface driver set for CD drives. Roxio EasyCD Creator should include the latest ASPI, but you can get it from here: http://cd-rw.org/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/aspi.cfm . I am not sure if ASPI is the solution here (strange error msg), but it doesn't do any harm either since your machine should already have it installed.

The old school is back. All hail the new http://BitBurners.com !

Yeah I think I should stop always suggesting ASPI. Never know though, computers have wierd ways of being fixed.

I have the exact same problem (new Dell Dimension), error 4506. Have any of these solutions worked?
