OK, I have looked everywehere for this and it may be my extreme ineptitude, but I can usually figure this kind of thing out. All I want to do is convert a dvd (or de-macroed VOBs) to MPEG so that I can cut them up into tiny pieces and make them do my bidding!! I am using DVD shrink to convert the dvd to VOBs. I have tried DVDX 2.2 but to no avail. I have also tried Flask MPEG, none of this stuff is working for me!!

If I were you, I select Xilisoft DVD Ripper. You may choose "Encode Segment" in File menu and enter the beginning time and the duration of the clip. A clip will be gotten easily.
