I have been looking up how to copy dvds to the hard drive on the internet, i have been doing this for the past 2 months but i have had no luck.
I have dvd decrypter and dvd shrink and also smart ripper if this helps my problem?
The thing is, is that i am trying to copy terminator 3 but either it doesnt play if i use powerdvd xp or its played in the directors cut type of audio.
NOTE: I only want to copy dvds to my hard drive, not onto a dvd.
You haven't been trying very hard ... cause all three will do the job.

My guess is you either used DVD Decrypter in ISO mode or used Shrink in re-author mode(and cut out too much). PowerDVD 5 will play ISO's, PowerDVD 4.0 will not. You can also use DVD Shrink to play your ISO's.

My suggestion is use DVD Shrink. Copy the whole movie (menu's and all).
1) Open Shrink, open disc
2) Click "backup!"
3) Change your target destination to you hard disk
4) Click ok
(Also when you open Shrink, click edit the preferences, under the File I/O tab uncheck the box to Enable burning with Nero.)
Using Shrink this way will allow you to 1) Save HD space 2) Ability to view the whole movie and extras and have a working menu 3) Your movie will be a video_ts file, which PowerDVD can open and view.
