So, i have this DVD-VR disc. I converted that whole disc to VOB files. On the computer the VOB files play fine, no sync problems. I used AutoGK to convert it first to Xvid, and then Divx. Both gave me problems with audio. I let it run overnight, then I checked it in the morning. Both times the audio was slightly before the video. I don't know whats wrong, and its really annoying me.

Any help would be great

thanks

Chris.

this process is unnecessary and will degrade teh video much. just use the xvid, if you check it, the xvid might be even lower in size than the divx, both is mpeg4. so no reason for converting.

if the audio is constantlly behind the video then it means the audio misplaced with the video frames, i only use VirtualDub, and in there you can select the interleave function to play it how many sec later or earlier.

if the out of sync increase than it must be problem with decoding or you use forcefilm and assume the fps into something else that will make it play slower or faster. :P

Dunno about AutoGK, why not go for the full deal
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/gordianknot/GordianKnot.RipPack.0.32.beta.Setup.exe?
shiroh I think he tried DVD to DivX
and then DVD to XviD,
they both were not synch'd, right Chrisab?
Yes simple to re-synch with VirtualDub, just remember 1000ms is one second. Hopefully audio will not 'wander' away, in which case you must adjust video frame rate.
I got quite good at this, I would time the film at the very start (as soon as lips moved, or asap) and then check for synch at the ending.
Now with GKnot everything is always timed/synch'd perfect.
