As expected, Amazon has used their press event today to unveil a larger Kindle Fire, one that should make it a stronger contender in the tablet market.
The new Kindle Fire HD has an 8.9-inch screen, 1920x1200 resolution and 254ppi display.

I like how they leave out how many cores the processor has (I can assume it has 2 since they would have proudly said 4).
One can also assume no microsdhc expansion and no full android market support, which makes this an expensive book reader and web surfer. I give up on anything amazon, it is for a niche market for sure.

Dual-core means two, I don't think they had to explain that.
