Actually most country's do this.

Let me explain in canada and in the u.k harry potter and the sorcerers stone is called harry potter and the philosophers stone so there citizens dont think about witch craft and magic recently as well they started punishing people for downloading torrents.

now look at china there afraid if they give them freedom of speech and expression that the people will leave the country and the country will fall into chaos this is why they block sites like Facebook and twitter because if it cannot be controlled by the goverment they dont want it there (seems like the u.k changing harry potters book name huh)

That had absolutely nothing to do with censorship and everything to do with marketing. The original title Rowling chose was harry potter and the philosopher's stone. The title was changed to sorcerer's stone in the US because the US publishers thought sorcerer's was a more eye catching word than philosopher's.
