As is their monthly tradition, Google has released the share splits for Android devices. Google says Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and 4.1 Jelly Bean now account for 25.5 percent share, still far behind the outdated 2.3 Gingerbread by a significant margin, but growing rapidly. will not buy anything other then a nexus just for this reason.

It looks like a LOT of people are happy (or just not upset with) Gingerbread, or just don't know or care that there is something newer and better. Why else would they have not upgraded to a phone with ICS or JB?

ICS has been out for almost a year, certainly many Gingerbread users had an opportunity to upgrade during this time and either didn't upgrade, or upgraded to another Gingerbread phone.
