Here we go again: Samsung sues Apple over iPhone 5

article published on 3 October, 2012

Samsung has started the next round in the long-standing legal battles between themselves and rival smartphone maker Apple. The Korean giant has filed suit over alleged patent infringement in Apple's latest, the iPhone 5. This is getting out of hand its a phone not the end of the world. Reminds me of kids on a playground what a Joke. Everytime a new phone come out there is a lawsuit And most of the time its apples name in it. It's up to the goverment of where the lawsuit is taken place to say look get out of my court stop wasting my time and the take payers money.

[sarcasm]Didn't they learn anything from the last case they lost? People on juries only care about how something looks when turned off...and the new iPhone looks exactly like an old Samsung when both are turned off.

at this point the judge should make most of this crap that being flung around like shapes and stuff like that UN-patentable. just to shut them up so they can focus on the heart of the issues.

Im more curious about overseas sales of Iphone 5 units. If there is a violation, Samsung can get the Iphone 5 banned in overseas markets.

The jealousy of Samsung bears its ugly head yet again, they should put more energy into development and actually try an make a decent device.
'Time and money well spent' is not a term that springs to mind on this occasion!

What would Samsung have to be jealous about? They already make better phones than Apple and sell more phones than Apple.

Since Apple has made it clear that lawsuits are how they plan to compete with Samsung, Samsung really has little choice but to follow suit.

techinically apple could say samsung copied them by taking out a lawsuit and sue them.basically this is getting rediculous.companies are realising they cant win with the best phones and advertising so they are going to the courts.gets bad publicity for both companies.

The idea that anyone's smart phone has a distinct look is idiotic.
They are all pretty much alike.
A black or white (or sometimes slightly different colour) rectangle with either rounded or square edges.
Big deal.

My sympathy is with Samsung in this, Apple have stolen plenty of much more fundamental ideas themselves (and admit it).
I hope Samsung win big & Apple change their ways.
They have managed to go (in a very short space of time) from a company with a nice chaché to their name to being just as mad & greedy as bunch of granny-sellers as any other distasteful company you care to mention.
