My ps2 won't load the swapmagic cd's. I have to restart my ps2 5-10 times before it loads at all. when it don't load it says "please insert a Playstation 2 or playstation disk...." or something like that (the same screen as you get when you try to boot a cd-r disk without any modchip). Is this normal or is my copy of the swapmagic disk damaged.? I bought it last friday.

maybe it is your laser that causes your problems, try a lens cleaner or adjust the angle of the laser

Hey,since we are ontopic, I have a similar issue =/

My SwapMagic DVD doesnt work...well,not the way it should, I also have to reset the PS2 multiple times for it to work, on the other hand, the SwapMagic CD works flawless, as does my original PS2 DVDs (dont know about PS1 or PS2 CDs, dont have one), even Xenosaga, being a dual layered and all.

After about a year of use I started having problems with my Swap Magic DVD. Every other DVD I had booted fine, but the SM one took several retries. I tried a friend's SM DVD and his would boot find so I had to assume it was my disk. My SM CD would boot fine every time. The SM Disks seem to be cheaply made and do not go through the quality control that a Sony authorized pressed disk would have.

After seeing it worked with my friend's copy I cleaned my laser lens and mine worked better, but still not first time, every time. You can try that or may have to get a replacement disk.

One thing I found that I could do in the meantime while I was waiting for my replacment to come was to boot with the SM CD since it still worked, load CD Loader, swap for a high TOC DVD (I used Devil May Cry), then load the backup.

just need to know how the slide card works exacly, im waiting for the slide card to be here in a few days and ive been reading up on it, and seems a little complicated, i got my cover the p panel off my station ok, and im thinking where does the card fit in? i dont really see a spot for it, i assume the slide card is small so it fits but i dont know, i read that: you, put the swap magic dvd in , says insert disc, then insert card on left then drag to right, pop in your game, now do you take out the card right here or leave it in after your games inside? cuz it says start again on the left drag to the right again but it says make sure its on the tap, for the card can get it hooked on it, then drag it back to the left, then take the card out it says, is that the whole percedure? i dont get the part when you take out the swap magic dvd at that time the first time when you put in your back up game, i want to know, do you take out the card when your backup game is inside, then go back to the left side then drag it again right? or do you leave the card in when your backups loading, basicly how many times in the whole procedure do you take out the card once or twice, i think its suppose to be twice one when putting in your backup to go back to the left side and two when your backup is inside when dragged back to the left instructions say then you can take out the card but it doesnt say to remove the card after your backup is inside, im assuming you do since it says start back to the left again then go right left then the cards out, says thats ok, but when you take the swap magic dvd out then put in your game right there you take it out right? then go back to the left then right then left, thats how im thinking of how this slide card works, i just hope it works and its easy

hey victim...
1st-don't write so much-no 1 can read it all
2nd-slide card is self explanitory
3rd-there are many sites that tell you how to use it
4th-stop being so paranoid about it
