Convert with TMPGencoder to MPG, then use Ulead DVD Movie Factory Disc Creator.
(You can download the free trial)

everyone makes this more complicated than it really is all you have to do is take a mpeg1 file (like on a vcd) although on a VCD the extention id .dat........ so just change the extention

Example: movie.mpg change to movie.dat

burn a data dvd toast works fine im sure others do to

when you put it in a dvd player with your multiple .dat flies (divided into folders for differnt movies...keep it neat)a menu will come up select your movie and press play.

very simple dont over think it dat files will play in sequence in folders and you can make chapters by dividing up the .mpg(changed to .dat) files.

JUST CHANGE THE EXTENTION

No Ckmacman, AVSEQ1.DAT is a ripped riff file that must be converted into a 'true' mpeg using, e.g. VCDEASY: Tools-->MPEG Tools--->Cdxa2mpeg.

And, in general, why, DVDRDISC? A movie extracted from a VCD has less quality than a DVD even if the media changes (for NTSC VCDs: 352x240 instead of 720x480).

Maybe to do more backups in a single media? You'll not gain video/audio quality!!

it was asked if you could do this(Reply to thread: Can u burn VCD Videos to a DVD disc?), that is why i posted
not to argue about formats i only said that i figured you that you can do this . And wanted to pass on that info to others that might want to try.

also dvd because you can fit 3 to 4 movies on one, not 2 vcd's per movie. Yes you wont get dvd quality but you can get fairly good quality, and if your not starting with a dvd (but a vcd) you wont get dvd quality anyway. If you dont know if you have a VCD disc burning it to dvd isnt going to improve the quaity at all. "Hold on im going to rip raders of the lost ark vhs tape put it to a dvd, and watch in high def." It doesnt work like that so if your going to burn a VCD file to a dvd than you might as well fit 3 or 4.

buy the way just brought dat file off a VCD into ffmpeg and it told me that it was a mpeg1 format all im saying is that mpeg1 works and you dont have to have any special programs to do it.

I hope this helps some people if you like it, try it, if not, dont

I FIGURED IT OUT!!!

I used TMPGEnc DVD Author to create a DVD from my mpeg-1 files. You simply add the original mpegs and it creates a DVD. It takes about two and a half hours, but I got 18 half hour shows (without commercials) on a single DVD. The program does everything and a trial version is located at http://www.pegasys-inc.com/en/product/tda.html. It is very easy to use. If you need some guidance, this website gives a pretty detailed explanation of the process: http://pubs.logicalexpressions.com/Pub0009/LPMArticle.asp?ID=226. For some reason when my DVD completed, Windows told me the burn process could not complete. However, I put the DVD in my Panasonic player and it works great. The picture is a little unclear (like a VCD), as expected, but it is perfectly viewable and the audio is fine. Hope this helps!!!
