I have a PS2 which I use to play dvd-r's. I burned 2 dvd's to start; a .img and a .nrg, the .nrg burn worked fine and the .img didn't (TV not compatible error) at first I thought the .img was PAL so I checked with Nero info tool:

What worked:

File sys: ISO9660, Joliet, UDF

App: Nero - Burning ROM

Format NTSC 4:3 (Mpeg 1, 720x480)

Regions all

What didn't work:

File sys, ISO9660, UDF

App, MKISOFS ISO 9660/HFS FILESYSTEM

Format NTSC 4:3 (Mpeg 1, 720x480)

Regions all

I'm not sure what caused the problem the file system or the app that was used to rip the DVD, as the file systems are almost identical.

So my first question is does anyone know what caused the problem.

My second is both DVDs play fine under daemon tools on the computer, has anyone tried ripping from the fake dvd-rom it creates? If so was there loss of quality or other problems when ripping the image?
