v9 exploded w/ infinity!!! why?

A v9 was modded with a Matrix Infinity. All solder points were checked and appeared fine, so it was fired up to test a PS2 game and DVD and both worked fine! The unit was reassembled and when turned on again, it gave only a blackscreen. Huh? Disassembled again and tried booting again ... POP/FLASH ... oh, crap. What happened? Here's pics of the install:

I would say that your placement of the chip was to blame for that. You should put it in the most open space you can find. Putting near or on top of fuse clusters like that is a no no.
