Hi All,

I've been following your discussions and have tried many of the things suggested, but my download speed is just pathetic!
So far I have disabled Xp firewall, downloaded ZoneAlarm version 4.5 (version 5 is known to have problems with Bittorrent).
I am using bit tornado version T-0.3.4. Set port range to 6881 - 60000 (yes 60,000). Set default rate setting to 'dsl/cable slow' and set 'local Ip' and 'IP to bind' to my ip.
Currently i am connected to 22 peers with an average of 35% completed and 2 seeds (seeding 3.998 copies)
The light will be GREEN once connected but the download speed will rarely go above 20kb/s.
I have a 750kb/s blueyonder broadband connection, Pentiun 3.06 with HT, 1024 MB low latency RAM, 250 Gig 7,200 HD, X800 Pro Ati graphics card.
The broadband connection is working correctly and the modem functioning fine.
Please Help - Bittorrent is driving me mad!!!!

how long do u leave it download at that speed? Torrents often start slow and work their way up!

You sure ur isp dont limit bansdwidth used on P2P?

Have u tried different clients? + do u think ur ISP might limit the traffic on P2P?

I've so far tried ABC, G3 and Azurus. But bit tornado seems to work best for me. I'm not sure about my ISP...I have no reason to suspect they would limit bandwidth on peer2peer apps. Can they actually do that?

Well thats good :-) So the only other thing then is your own PC. There has to be something thats blocking it out or limiting it! Have u got any bandwidth limiters installed like Netlimiter?

I haven't got any bandwidth limiters at all - well not to my knowledge anyway. I certainly haven't downloaded any.
I changed my port range to 65000-65050 and limited peer connections to 50. My client would always freeze if to many peers connected. I'm now downlading at about 50kbps average. I still think thats a bit poor. Anyone got any other ideas??? HELP!

Full connection speed? Quote from original thread "...I have a 750kb/s blueyonder broadband connection"
Is that what you meant?

Then 50 aint really that bad then, although your conjenction could reach about 100kb/s! 75 on average at least!

50kbs is good. Most of the time you're around 80% of your advertised connection speed (even with tweaking), so if you're "supposed" to get 75kbs on average, 50kbs is good.

Everyone is entitled to their own true opinion. Either respect that or don't.
