hi guys,

I have a matrix infinity v10 ps2. I usually buy a lot of imported games and for safety I copy their files on my pc HD. The other day my godson came and he broke my actual dvd disk of r-type. Now I am trying to burn a dvd with my files (it is not in bin/cue - i dont know how to do that...) and my ps2 recognized the disk as an dvd video and the disk just wont boot!

Any questions? Please help!!!

While I have no actual experience in doing DVD Backups, I reallly dont think its as easy as copying all the files and later burn them on your PS2 =/ you need to do an actual Image file, not just drag all the files into your PC.

This is a quick tutorial on how to properly burn DVD backups, taken from ps2ownz.com (I hope this doesnt go agains the rules) :

-------------------------------------------------------
Using Prassi almost same thing as Record Now Max

1. Start Primo
2. Select "go to full application"
3. Right Click the drive that has your original in it
4. Select "build global image" and choose a path for the image (preferably on an NTFS operating system)
5. After the image is extracted go to next step
6. Choose the 3rd disc icon from the left *or* click file, new job, Global/Other Image
7. Then just burn the .gi (global image) of the game

Using Nero

1. Start Nero, Use the Wizard
2. Select "DVD" then select Next
3. Select "Copy a DVD" then select Next
4. Select your source drive
5. Select or Deselect "copy on the fly" then click next
6. Select your write speed
8. Press "Burn" to begin

Using Alcohol 120%

1. Start Alcohol 120%
2. Select ?Copy Wizard?
3. Select your Reader
4. For ?Separate Image file every:? choose ?Never Separate?
5. Select or Deselect ?Copy current disc on the fly?, press Next
6. Select your Image location and Name for it, press Next
7. Select your Writer, Write Speed
8. Select or Deselect ?Delete image file after recording?
9. Press Start to begin

Using DVD Decrypter

1. Start DVD Decrypter
2. Select Mode, go down to ISO Read
3. Select your Reader & Destination
4. ?Decrypt? the ISO Image to the Hard Drive
5. Wait for the ISO Image to be made
6. Select Mode, go down to ISO Write
7. Select the ISO Image file you made, click ?Open?
8. Select your Burner, Write speed & Burn the ISO
-------------------------------------------------------

You may want to take that in consideration for doing backups of your future DVDs, but as of now...Im not sure if you can still make a backup with your files =/ you may want to go to the PS2 DVD Backup forum for help, since this forum doesnt have anything to do with your problem anyways.

first of all thank you for your input.

The thing is that I JUST have the files only. My disk is permanently damaged... So either I figure a way to do this or actually go and fork another $50 for a new copy.

What to you know about cd/dvd creator 1.50 by sony? Do you have a tutorial on that?

You can actually make all the files into a .iml file and then with iml2iso do the actualy iso. I did the process, but again my files will not boot...

Any ideas?!?!?!?

PLZ HELP!

Thanking you in advance,

A.

I dont have any tutorials on cd/dvd creator 1.50 by sony, but as I told you earlier, you should go seek help on the PS2 DVD Backup forum, as it is more likely to get your problem solved there.

This forum deals only with PS2 CD-Based booting methods, like the Swap Magic Discs , but since you have a mod-chip, the proper place to seek help is either the hardware boot forum or the DVD Backup forum.

If you need further assistance, you may want to consider ps2ownz.com's Forum also.

I hope this helps.
