I must seem thick but just installed xp onto new pc installed nero 5.5. the same as i had on my win 98 one, but instead of backing up cd to cd it now makes an inage and puts that into what i asume is xp's cd burning file. How do i get it to burn on the fly.

Change your burner from Image Recorder to the actual burner (Recorder --> Select Recorder)

I have been through it and cant find where to change the settings to backup a disc.

Make sure you dont select the Image Recorder but rather your actual burner :)

I dont know if i'm making my self clear. But this is what happens :- i put a blank into my 107D and put the disc that i want to back up into my other drive. Then even using the wizard i go cd then copy cd, then burn which used to start it backing up from one disc to the other without making an image, but now it goes to make an image and whatever i try to it wont let me copy on the fly.
