Not sure if this is the right forum area but I want to convert AVI to DVD (mpg). Are there any free software packages out there that can do this?

I have a similar question that falls along the same lines. I use Ulead Video Studio 7 to convert the AVI to DVD. The problem I am having is that after the project has been converted/rendered and I try to burn it to DVD, it says the disk is not big enough. Once the project has been rendered the file size is approximately 3.9Gb. I've also tried reducing the sample rate and I still get the same results. Anyone have an idea what I am doing wrong?
