Ouya, the Android-based gaming console, will begin shipping to developers in the next few days.
The console, which was one of Kickstarter's highest-funded projects at almost $9 million and over 60,000 backers, will ship to 1200 developers that paid $699 to get an early dev console and the ability to code games.

i love this console there price point rocks as well 99.99 for the console with one controller and each controller is 15.99 after that you can also legally mod the console without voiding the warranty because they have announced that they will fully support the console mods and all
Too late in the game... This holiday was they best shot, improvement will be necessary to launch this console successfully. I'm glad I'm not a backer, they got so much money and haven't delivered on time IMO. The good thing is that now is blood on water, and sharks will come=D maybe starks company will build one.

it might be too eclectic for mainstream tho.
once consumers start down a path (even if it's not the best one), their inertia makes it impossible to sway them off of it, even if it's detrimental to them (microsoft windows anyone?)
i thought on-live was dead already - another great concept gone the way of the phantom console.
